As fighting games go this is a fairly well put together game. It is smooth enough, with good good graphics and sound, especially for the size of the download. Of course what makes this Dragonball Z MUGEN Edition really cool is that it's DragonBall Z! All of your favourite characters are here for you to pit agaist each other. Hyper Dragon Ball Z is a classic fighting game designed in the style of Capcom titles from the 90s. The game is created by Team Z2 consisting of many ultra-talented people who develop the game in their free time. Unlike other Dragon Ball fan projects, Hyper Dragon Ball Z doesn't use sprites from commercial video games. Dragon Ball Z Sagas is a title that threw the 1v1 fight aside and opted for a more adventure take on the series, and personally, I'm all in for this. Adventure awaits. Atari and Avalanche Software got together to stay away from what we are used to seeing in most Dragon Ball games and reversed that into an adventure game. Shop our great selection of video games, consoles and accessories for Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS Vita, 3DS and more. There is a lot of process running on your system that consumes CPU resources and memory, and some of these processes appear to be malicious files and they attack your PC.

Dragon Ball is one of those series we simply can't seem to get enough of, as we've seen new anime episodes, adaptations, mangas, movies, and of course, video games keep coming out for over 30 years now. It's simply amazing to see what they'll come up with next, especially in the video game scenario. Adventure awaits

Atari and Avalanche Software got together to stay away from what we are used to seeing in most Dragon Ball games and reversed that into an adventure game. Like many other games based in Dragon Ball Z, the story here starts with the Saiyan Saga, and it will take us through the adventure from that point on.

It's interesting to see how they manage to pull different versions of the same story in the many different games throughout the years. This adventure here will take us through all the chapters of the adventure up to the Cell Saga.

Follow the story

This time it's the game won't let you choose which character you'll use from the get-go, instead, it will change depending on the part of the story you're currently in. This means when we start playing, close to the arrival of Raditz, we play as Goku. And as the game progresses we'll be switching the characters we control depending on which point of the story you are.

Just like the anime

The game really focuses on trying to recreate iconic scenes from the anime through the adventure, it does so much that it actually uses a series of scenes taken straight out of the real anime. I think it's a clever way of recreating the series and it will be great for some fans, but in the end, it is a double-edged weapon. As soon as these animated scenes end, you are confronted with the harsh contrast of the game vs the anime.

This is the type of game only a hardcore fan of the series would enjoy. If you're not completely a die-hard fan then I really find it pretty hard to recommend. The game is close to a more 3Dbeat-em-up game, but the animations a so slow, the controls so uncomfortable, and the visuals so below-average that it ends up being awkward.

There are plenty of good Dragon Ball Z games you can buy on the PS2, but sadly this just isn't one of those. To make a great Dragon Ball game they really need something unique, especially since there are so many already. And while the change of pace is much appreciated here, it's still not enough. Nor is it well done either, as it's just a sloppy, 3D beat-em-up with awkward animations.
